Does this work?
No one has posted yet and I have the sneaking suspicion I’m going to feel really silly. Basically, I’m interested in exploring the themes of light and dark in Ivy Day in the Committee Room and paralysis in both Ivy Day and The Dead. I first tried to count the number of instances of the juxtaposition of light and dark in Ivy Day, and found that the dark references very much outweighed the number of light references, which emphasizes the sentiment of despair that is threaded throughout the story. I also wanted to discuss the idea of paralysis in both stories in regards to micro and macrocosmic realms, such as social, political, and emotional paralysis.
